Artist Festivals in Dresden

„Gauklerfeste“ and „Bauernbälle“ were the carnival celebrations of the art-studying in Germany. Particularly in Munich and Dresden the artist associations arranged numerous splendid postcard publications on the occasion of the complex produced celebrations, which stood under the slogan "in arte voluptas". Among the designers are not rarely well-known artists e.g. the Expressionists Max Pechstein or Otto Dix. For all of them it was a welcome opportunity to step with a postcard design for the first time to the public.
